FCL management
Infodis has fully integrated Full Container Loads (FCL) in the Shipment Tracking service. Now you can book and monitor express, parcel, pallet, LCL and FCL shipments all in one system with one look and feel. Road, air and ocean controlled from one source of information.
To accommodate FCL Infodis has set up connections with the three sea freight portals, GTNexus, Inttra and CargoSmart. We provide a smart link from your ERP system via one of the portals to your ocean carrier for booking requests and shipping instructions. In return we get schedules and status updates, so you know what happened and what’s going to happen to your goods.
ERP-system link
You may have found that your ERP-system is lacking information for proper messaging with ocean carriers. There’re no port location codes, no notify addresses and there’s no way to control the type of document to be prepared by the carrier. If you send your EDI message to Infodis we will extract all the information that can be used, do some standard mapping and add some defaults to assemble a correct message to one of the portals. In this way we can handle booking requests (from transport order messages) and shipping instructions (from goods issue messages). For the shipping instruction there’s the option to inspect, correct and add information via our website before sending.
Web booking
If you don’t want to set up a link with your ERP-system then yowu can use our web booking facility to send out a booking request to a carrier and subsequently complete the information for the shipping instruction. You can use templates and addresses from your database and make use of the applicable defaults from your specific system setup for easy data entry.
Tracking & tracing
The booking request is confirmed by the carrier with the booking number, vessel name, voyage number and the last known schedule information. We also get regular schedule updates and status information. All this up to date tracking information is available on our carrier independent website. You can grant access to this information to your parties at the other end of the traffic lane as well. This enables them to exercise full pipeline control on the inbound goods. Information can be downloaded in spreadsheets or you can easily set up periodic automated reports directly into your or anybody else’s mailbox. On the main events, like container discharge we can send e-mail alerts to people concerned. We can also feed the schedule and status information back into your ERP-system.We can also keep track of the underlying deliveries with delivery lines in the container if this information is available in the file feed from the ERP-system. Assemble an automated report and have it send every day or week to your consignees and they know when to expect the arrival of the material they ordered.
